Signing of MoU with KMUTNB
On September 15th, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) about a comprehensive international cooperation agreement was signed between our university, i.e., CIST, and King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).
There are three affiliated universities of King Mongkut's University of Technology (KMUT) in Thailand: King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). All three are national universities, and although they were originally independent universities, they became affiliated universities following the reorganization of national universities in Thailand in 1971. KMUTNB was established in 1959 as a comprehensive university under the joint initiative of Thailand government and the Federal Republic of Germany.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from KMUTNB, including Vice President Prof. Somrark Chandra-ambhorn, Dean, Faculty of Engineering Prof. Kittichai Thanasupsin, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering Prof. Chakrit Panpean, the Department Head of Applied Chemistry Prof. Pianpool Kamoljitprapa, Deputy Director, International Office Prof. Tanaporn Rojhirunsakool, and the Department Head of Biomedical Engineering Prof. Sethavut Duangcha, along with other faculty members. From our university, President Prof. Yoshikazu Miyanaga and Board Member of CIST Prof. Akira Taguchi (Vice President of Tokyo City University) attended the ceremony, which included the exchange of commemorative gifts and a group photo. The KMUTNB President was out of the country on business, so the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed by him in advance.
After the ceremony, Prof. Miyanaga and Prof. Taguchi met with the Chairman, the Board of Directors, Professor Teravuti Boonyasopon, and the Vice President for International Affairs, Associate Professor Pichet Sriyanyong, for discussions on future collaboration and exchange of information on specific joint projects.
