International Symposium on Multimedia and Communications (ISMAC 2025)
The IEEE International Symposium on Multimedia and Communications (ISMAC 2025) was held on Panglao Island in the Philippines for three days from August 20th to 22nd. Research papers were presented at this conference in the following specialized fields: (1) Multimedia and Processing Systems, (2) Signal Processing, (3) Communication Systems, and (4) Industry and Regulatory Development for Communication (see Figure 1).
In addition to IEEE, the conference was also co-sponsored by the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), Engineering Sciences Society (ESS). This international conference was also co-sponsored by our university, along with the University of the Philippines (Republic of the Philippines) and Chulalongkorn University (Kingdom of Thailand) (Photo 1). This conference has been held since 2005, marking its 10th anniversary this year.
This conference was held simultaneously with the National Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering Conference 2025 (NEECECON 2025), allowing participants to participate in the technical sessions, reception, and banquet at both conferences. The international conference consisted of tutorial lectures on August 20th, followed by keynote lectures, a special session, and general sessions on the 21st. The 22nd consisted of an invited lecture and general sessions, with six research presentations in the special sessions and 69 research presentations in the general sessions.
The keynote lecture on the 21st was given by Professor Suzuki Masatoshi, vice-President of our university (Photo 2). Three graduate (Master Course) students from our university (Mr. Ryusei Oikawa (Yoshimoto Laboratory), Mr. Shuhei Otaki (Yamada Laboratory), and Mr. Shunsuke Yoshi (Yoshimoto Laboratory)) participated in the special and general sessions, and they presented their research papers.
