Chitose Institute of Science and Technology is creating a website that will be easy to view, use, and understand by everyone, in view of web accessibility. Based on “JIS X 8341-3:2016 Guidelines for older persons and persons with disabilities – Information and communications equipment, software and services – Part 3: Web content ” (“JIS X 8341-3:2016”), the accessibility policy is set forth as follows.

What is accessibility?

Web accessibility means that anyone, including elderly people and people with disabilities, can use the information and functions of a website without problems (from Everyone’s Public Website Operational Guidelines (2016) by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications).

Scope of coverage

The target is HTML files managed by CMS (Content Management System) on the website of Chitose Institute of Science and Technology.

The following items are not covered.

Foreign language pages
Content provided by external services including Yahoo maps and Google custom search
Since the content is provided by a third party, it is not covered.
PDF files
We will consider the achievement criteria as far as possible, but currently, it is difficult to make all PDF files web-accessible from both information-related and technical perspectives, so these are not included in the scope of coverage.
Pages to post videos
Since the content is provided by a third party, such as YouTube, it is not covered.
Websites operated independently by departments, the graduate school, or other organizations are not covered.

Target conformance level and responsiveness

Consideration for JIS X 8341-3:2016 conformance level AA
The notation of “Consideration” is based on the notation defined in the Guidelines for the Degree of Conformance of Web Content to JIS X 8341-3:2016- March 2016 of the Web Accessibility Infrastructure Committee of the Info-communication Access Council.

Future response policy

Criteria that had not conformed at the time when the test was conducted will be addressed through routine page revisions and creation work.
